However, there were still many toys that many fans are grateful that they will be able to get. Various sources shared their Toy Fair experiences around social media, allowing me to be able to make this post. So let's dive right in and discover what Hasbro had to offer this year at the annual New York Toy Fair, 2019! My Little Pony - Rainbow Squad SeriesFriends of Equestria Collection First we have this new collection set, featuring the mane six, the 3 main Princesses, Spike, and Minty! Fans are very pleased with this set as it features the first ever 4" official brushable Princess Luna, the first reboot mold Minty, and most of the mane six, as well as some of the princesses, have brand new eye designs. Twilight finally features her show accurate eye shape. On-The-Go Sets - Available: Rainbow dash, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle Also displayed were the On-The-Go pony sets. The first wave, which has already been revealed for a while, consists of Rarity, & Twilight Sparkle (as pictured above). Rainbow Dash follows in the second wave, with a new eye design, and her first time being in the Determined reboot pose. Her accessories are summer themed, with beach & grill accessories. Oh My Giggles Pinkie Pie The new Oh My Giggles Pinkie Pie Large Feature Figure was also on Display. She has a sensor on her tongue that triggers giggle sounds when touched or when somebody passes by. She will retail for $29.99 this fall. "If there's one thing Pinkie Pie loves more than planning parties, it's laughing! Hear Pinkie Pie laugh with this ticklish figure that's fun and silly like her character in entertainment. When kids tickle Oh My Giggles Pinkie Pie toy, she starts to giggle, wiggle, and laugh! Tickle her chest to hear Pinkie Pie giggle -- the more she is tickled, the harder she laughs and faster she moves! Sounds and movement can also be activated by light sensor in figure's mouth, creating unexpected moments of surprise and delight when activated by motion. Fans of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV show can have fun laughing alongside this interactive toy that moves and makes laughing noises. Figure has long rooted hair and signature character cutie mark of 3 balloons. Available at most major toy retailers nationwide and on HasbroToyShop.com." Shimmering Princesses & Magical Salon Ponies (Photos taken by: Equestria Daily - Gameleon) The first set of Shimmering Princess fashion styles, consisting of Celestia & Luna are also on display. It is unknown if Cadance & Twilight will come later. Alongside them were the Magical Salon Rarity & Pinkie Pie Fashion Style ponies. Each set comes with a "Magic wand" that uses light to leave designs on the colored streaks in the ponies manes. Repackaged Ultimate Equestria Collection / Rainbow Squad Singles Last years' Ultimate Equestria Collection has had its packaging recolored to closer resemble Canterlot Castle, in comparison to its previous release. Instead of only Twilight appearing on the front of the box, the rest of the typical 3 (Pinkie & Rainbow) have also been added. The Rainbow Squad singles for this spring are also displayed. There don't appear to be any single ponies for the fall. Rainbow Roadtrip : MY LITTLE PONY RAINBOW TAIL SURPRISE Collection Pack Repurposed versions of the Meet the Mane Six figures with new tail features, as well as new eye designs. Twilight also has her wings painted with a Rainbow design. The gimmick here is that you dip the ponies into water and their blank tails turn all rainbowy (This ties into the story of the 44 minute special that the toys are based on. More in depth info here). The full set of the mane six will retail for $29.99. "(Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $29.99/Available: Summer 2019) Rainbow Lights Fluttershy & Rainbow Dash These seaponies appear to be bath toys. They come with a ring of bubbles attached to their torsos, which are supposed to light up, and help them float in water. They have sculpted manes & tails and feature new eye designs. There is also going to be a play set available to go along with the seaponies, according to MLPMerch visitor Ayu, but that was not displayed. Unknown Releases - Pony Heads These products obviously didn't get much attention at the fair. The pony heads, some believe are styling heads, were only on display during the preparations. Cutie Mark CrewCutie Mark Crew Multipacks and Blind Packs Many Cutie Mark Crew figures were also on display, including the wave 3 (Wedding Bash) Multipacks & Blind Pack figurines. We also see many of the wave 4 Cutie Mark Crew figures on display, but we only get a glimpse of the packaging for series 5 which will be titled "Rainbow Surprise" according to their Amazon Listing. Each package will be multicolored as the amazon listing suggests. Cutie Mark Crew Confetti Party Countdown A new Cutie Mark Crew set has been spotted at the Toy Fair. This is the Confetti Party Countdown set, and similar to an advent calendar, it has multiple figures and accessories hidden inside each numbered label, that you open one at a time. A Pinkie Pie with rainbow hair and an accessory is visible from the outside. Licensed Products + More Figures Hasbro also presented their line-up of licensed Cutie Mark Crew products, such as notebooks, stationary items, water bottles, etc., alongside their Cutie Mark Crew plushies, and the Snow Day Multi-pack. The Snow Day multi-pack will be available alongside the Sightseeing Fun pack. These sets include the first brushable Cutie Mark Crew figures, as well as characters such as Daring Do, Applebloom & Smolder. Equestria GirlsEquestria Girls Fashion Dolls - Classic & Through the Mirror Doll & Pony Sets Not a lot of hype around Equestria Girls this time around. Hasbro has since discontinued the Equestria Girls minis and is left with only the fashion dolls & fashion squad series' to display. Displayed are the classic Equestria Girls fashion dolls from 2017. Do take note that the later releases that have been recently showing up at Target and Walmart do not feature braids or anything of that style in their hair, as the original releases did. We can also see the new Pinkie Pie & Twilight Sparkle Through the Mirror Doll & Pony sets. Each set includes a fashion doll with 5 points of articulation, an outfit, and a pony, similar to those of the Best Gift Ever set. They retail for $14.99 each. Equestria Girls Fashion Squad Hasbro did not put much emphasis on their new Equestria Girls Fashion Squad figures either, as they only displayed their previously revealed accessory multipacks. They did however reveal the third in the series, which includes Fluttershy & Twilight Sparkle. Like the previous two sets (which included Sunset Shimmer with Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie with Rarity), the set includes 40+ accessories for the mini dolls, including outfits to mix & match. They have an Amazon Listing, but no information has been put on it yet. Each pony 2 will come in a 2-pack with another & also includes a comb. Characters available will be Butterscotch, Blue Belle, Minty, Firefly, Minty, Cotton Candy & Snuzzle. Release dates are unknown. Announced Future ContentMy Little Pony Movie - 2 A new My Little Pony movie is set to be in the works and premiere by 2021. According to various sources, it will NOT be a sequel to the 2017 My Little Pony Movie, and will likely be based on G5, which rumor has it that a show is to be airing by fall of 2020. The movie will by CG animated, meaning it will likely not be a cartoon, and will be available in 3D. Of course you can't have G5 without the end of G4. Hasbro has officially announced on their My Little Pony social media pages that season 9, airing this spring, will be the final season of Friendship is Magic. However, that doesn't mean season 9 won't have anything in store. Show writer Big Jim on Twitter tweeted; "A little tease for what's in store for #MLPSeason 9: our 200th (!) episode! Guest stars! Returning characters! Cool new characters! New songs! Some big revelations! A grand conclusion! Am I being vague enough?" Licensed ProductsMy Little Pony Dressed to Impress Vinyl Figures A company known as Kidrobot has announced their new line of My Little Pony; Dressed to Impress blind boxes. Each vinyl figure is styled to match the mane six in a new outfit and with different hairstyle. It is unknown if the plush will be an official product release. They have displayed the blank product prototype sculpts. Well, that's all the major news coming from Toy Fair. What do you guys think? Do you like what Hasbro has to offer this year, or are you amongst the group of people who felt underwhelmed by the amount of stuff this year? Personally, I wasn't too taken by the toy selection this year. I felt like because My Little Pony left such a big impact on modern Pop Culture, inspiring many cartoons that people enjoy today, that Hasbro would do something grand, you know, like a big finale. Instead it feels like repackage-con. It surprises me that Hasbro had to re-release the same mane six fashion styles from the movie up to 3 times to try and rid of their stock. First in the Ultimate Equestria Collection, then this springs' budget mane six fashion styles (Not displayed), and now having to repeat the Ultimate Equestria Collection again. This years rainbow Squad singles are just the Friendship School singles without the body designs, the Rainbow Road trip figures are just the Meet the Mane six figures with new tail gimmicks and new eyes, and the ponies in the Friends collection are a mix of the All About ponies and the Friendship School ponies with minor changes. The amount of toys being released too is underwhelming. However, I will say, despite all my negative thoughts on the line, I am glad that Hasbro has finally given us a blue 4" Luna, and fixed Twilights' eye design. Those were probably my 2 greatest requests I was hoping for, and it did come true. I do wish we had more background characters however. Minty is awesome, but shes clearly just a rehaired reboot lyra. Anyways, those are my opinions, and I sure do hope there will be awesome store exclusives, cause I still want to expand my G4.5 Collection. Later!
